Now that the kids are grown or your career is winding down, have you been getting the urge to play again? Or maybe you have always dreamed of playing an instrument in a musical group but never had the chance?

Still need more reasons to pick up that instrument? Well, this 5 minute TED TALK makes it quite apparent that playing music is probably the BEST way to exercise your brain and playing a WIND instrument gives you a cardio workout to boot!

All our events happen IN DAYLIGHT HOURS, so you can still carry on with your normal evening activities! Bring your friends along. They'll thank you.

Join the Grand River New Horizons Band in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, a group of amateur musicians who get together every week to learn and make music together and have fun in the process. So get your old flute or trumpet out of the attic and come on out. If you don't have an instrument, don't worry. Just bring yourself and we'll help get you started.

If you have always wanted to LEARN TO IMPROVIZE on familiar Jazz/Rock/Bebop tunes from chords, Monday mornings are where that's happening!
If you haven't played for a LONG time or want to learn a second instrument, Friday mornings are perfect for you!

As you can see, there is something for everyone. Even string players? Yes, we have a violinist learning to improvize! You can join a smaller ensemble or form one of your own; maybe a brass quintet, woodwind ensemble or string quartet? The possibilities are all here.
